Clarisa Martinez, PT, DPTEducation
Prior to attending USC, Clarisa worked as an undergraduate research assistant at the University of Des Moines studying ACL injuries in female athletes. While at USC, Clarisa was a study coordinator for a large clinical trial for low back pain. She has worked in outpatient orthopedics, focusing on return-to-sport training and post-surgery rehabilitation. She has also worked in an outpatient pediatric clinic where she treated children with conditions including Cerebral Palsy, Down s Syndrome, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. At Kern PT, she incorporates her diverse background to provide evidence-based care that is uniquely tailored to a patient's needs. She enjoys working with patients with stroke, Parkinson's Disease, and polyneuropathies, and uses such equipment as body weight supported treadmill training, to help address dysfunctions of gait and balance. She is also certified in BIG therapy, a treatment approach for patients with Parkinson's Disease. |
